Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” has been awarded with the ‘Best Projects (X-SDI) Award’ for its pioneering project, “Comprehensive Digital Transformation towards Smart, Sustainable and Green Industrial Cities, Driven by AI”. The award was presented at Tomorrow.City Shanghai 2025 Conference in Shanghai, China, held during the period from September 2 to 6.
Houda Al Battashi, Director of Excellence and Institutional Transformation at Madayn, stated that the award-winning project embodies Madayn’s vision to transform traditional industrial cities into future cities driven by digitisation, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence. “The project aims at transforming the Sultanate’s industrial cities into an integrated global model that combines advanced digital technologies, clean energy, and smart resource management, and hence enhancing the Sultanate’s position as a leading destination for sustainable industrial investment,” Al Battashi pointed out.
She added, “The project aims to develop smart and sustainable industrial cities, reduce carbon emissions, attract foreign investments through unified digital gateways, empower SMEs through innovation incubators and affordable access to advanced technologies, in addition to establishing a participatory governance model that brings together the government, private sector, academia, and society.”
The award represents an international recognition of the Sultanate’s commitment to sustainable digital transformation and Madayn’s continuous drive for innovation. The winning project aligns with Oman Vision 2040, supporting a knowledge-based and diversified economy while advancing smart, green and integrated industrial cities that set a global benchmark for modern industrial development.
