The tambourah (also spelled tanboura, tambura, fann at-tanbura, or nuban) is a prominent string instrument (chordophone) in Omani traditional music, particularly associated with the rituals of Sur. The instrument is the centre piece of the exhibition titled 'Rhythm of Life,' an exhibition of richness and diversity in Oman's music, held at Royal Opera House Muscat. Everest) by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary on on the same day in 1953. This year’s event also coincided with Republic Day of Nepal, adding further significance to the celebration. From Oslo Elizabeth Davis is an Indian artist based in Oman. She loves traveling and she shares today's moments. "Oslo .. a beautiful city with some amazing statues. Waiting to visit the Munch museum and the Vigeland sculpture park," she reflected. And then she did. "The sculpture of the angry boy is world renowned," she noted. Munch Museum is dedicated to the life and works of Edvard Munch. Vigeland Sculpture Park is Gustav Vigeland's life work comprising of more than 200 sculptures in granite, bronze and wrought iron.

Clive Holes, authorsdProfessor Clive Douglas Cole A linguist, Professor Clive Douglas Holes, had first come to Oman in 1973. That was when the Seeb airport, as it was known then, had just been inaugurated. He was working at the British Council in Kuwait and came to Oman to visit his friend after securing a no-objection certificate. In 1980, 1983 and in 1984, he came back to Oman for short consultancy visits to advise the Foundation Committee of Sultan Qaboos University. And in 1985 Professor Clive was appointed as the Director of the Language Center of Sultan Qaboos University. Today, he is back in the country as a guest, author and speaker at the 29th Muscat International Book Fair.
