The instrument is the centre piece of the exhibition titled 'Rhythm of Life,' an exhibition of richness and diversity in Oman's music, held at Royal Opera House Muscat. A special concert of two parts featured one of India’s greatest classical musicians, playing the sitar, a plucked, stringed instrument celebrated for its distinctive lingering sound. The second half of the concert was be led by the European Philharmonia, conducted by Walter Proost.
